\u2018Goans\u2019 a demonym used to describe the people of Goa. Ruled by the Portuguese for over 450 years, the culture is embedded with the remnants of the past. Right from their religious beliefs, attires, education, festivals, and art is highly influenced. Due to this Goa remains the most unique state in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite Kerala being known for its backwaters, Goa also has its share of a network of backwaters that run through many villages. An aspect that isn\u2019t widely publicized. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These backwaters are a source of fishes and of course water for the villagers. This piece depicts how women carry water from these water bodies. A reflection of our strong culture and resilient women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To experience the authenticity of what Goa has to offer you need to head out the village. Life in villages start really early and ends by 8 pm, leaving the streets to be deserted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lot of villages are connected to cities through private buses, which also end their services very early in the evening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Old Goa Church<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The biggest tourist attraction of Goa the \u2018Basilica of Bom Jesus\u2019 also famously known as Old Goa Church, is a part of the Churches and convents of Goa UNESCO World Heritage Site. The basilica is in Old Goa, the former capital of Portuguese India, that holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
